Severe June weather not uncommon

We've had something of a stormy spring and summer so far this year. Going all the way back toward the end of March. It may be surprising. But the National Weather Service says that's not all that uncommon.

Mark Ewens with the National Weather Service says although we may not see as much severe weather..the storms that we do see will pack a punch. He says those summers following a la nina winter usually see more severe weather, such as the year of the Northwood tornado in 2007.

Mark Ewens - National Weather Service: “Those were summers following la nina's and were relatively cool and relatively quiet severe weather summers but when severe weather occurred it was big events.”

And about the big temperature change from yesterday to today, Ewens says... That's normal for this time of year.
