Lynn Peterson will be the school's part-time A-D. Peterson was the boys basketball coach at Staples-Motley for 35 years and part time A-D, that ended in April when he resigned.
The school put Peterson on paid leave earlier this spring to investigate allegations against him, he resigned before a report ever came out. Rothsay superintendent says the allegations were never a topic during the hiring process.
DR. MARY DONOHUE STETZ - Rothsay Superintendent: “I don't know what the issues were there so at this point we went with the person that had the most experience and is going to be a great leader in our building.”
There are no plans to have Peterson coach as of now, but that could change in the future.
