Belcourt man pleads guilty to assaulting Bureau of Indian Affairs officer
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Belcourt man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Belcourt man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation.
Authorities say 29-year-old Edward J. Allery appeared in federal court in Bismarck on Monday on a charge of assaulting and resisting a federal officer.
Authorities say Allery assaulted and injured the officer in March during a DUI investigation. Authorities say a second officer was able to subdue and arrest Allery.
Sentencing is set for Sept. 13. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
