Bohl says Mike Sigers (SEE'-gurs) did not meet academic standards.

Sigers carried the ball 57 times last season for 373 yards, an average of 6.5 yards per attempt. The 5-foot-6, 174-pounder from Houston scored four touchdowns.

Sigers ran for 150 yards on just 13 carries in playoff wins over Robert Morris and Montana State.

The Bison will return starting running back D.J. McNorton. Bohl tells the Fargo Forum that NDSU is "still OK" at the position.

NDSU advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs before losing to eventual national champion Eastern Washington.
