Bison looking for first D-1 post season victoryFargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - The Bison baseball team is set to make history tomorrow when it will play in its first postseason game since making the D-1 transition and they're ready for the big stage.

Not one player on the Bison roster has ever played in a conference tournament at the Division 1 level, yet none of them are surprised there here.
Tyler Steen - NDSU Junior Catcher: “This was our goal. This is what we expected, so I don't think any of us are satisfied.”
Tod Brown - NDSU Head Coach: “These are the 4 best teams, so we are gonna have our hands full and I like the way we're playing right now.”
NDSU capped off a strong 2nd half of the season last weekend taking 3 of 4 against fellow tournament qualifier western Illinois. But the key to its late season surge may be a result of the hard knocks suffered earlier in the year.
John Straka - NDSU Sophomore Pitcher: “We started bad at 2-18, had a meeting to sort things out. We gotta put that behind us we know we are a better team than that.”
Zach Wentz - NDSU Junior Infielder: “We won a lot of close games that we lost in the beginning and the second half we turned things around and clinched the number 3 seed.”
The Bison won't need much of a pep talk for their first ever Division 1 postseason game, they'll just need to look at the jerseys in the opposing dugout.
“We're excited it's the conference tournament and we're playing the Jacks. We wanna prove that we belong there.”
The Bison have had trouble with the Jacks, going 1-4 against their rivals this season with their lone win coming in extra innings.
“We're not afraid of anyone. We played a lot of close games against them. They have good hitters; we just need to keep them quiet.”
“No one is expecting us to win, but that's the way we like it. No pressure and we're going to come out relaxed and try to win.”
And any win from here on out would be another first for the program. Game time is 7 pm tomorrow. The winner of the tourney gets the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
