Man accused of kicking officers with cleated shoes

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Fort Yates man is accused of resisting arrest and kicking Bureau of Indian Affairs police officers with cleated athletic shoes.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Fort Yates man is accused of resisting arrest and kicking Bureau of Indian Affairs police officers with cleated athletic shoes.

Authorities say 54-year-old Kevin Little Bear pleaded guilty Thursday to assaulting and resisting a federal officer.

Authorities say Little Bear kicked BIA police officers in the chest and shoulder areas while officers where arresting him for suspicion of domestic violence. The incident happened on Feb. 26 on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in south-central North Dakota.

Sentencing is set for Aug. 16. Little Bear faces up to eight years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
