Fargo considering valet service to alleviate downtown parking problemFargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Parking in downtown Fargo at certain times of the day can be difficult. Now the city is considering a unique way to alleviate the problem.
Imagine that your coming down to a show at the Fargo Theatre and instead of fighting to find a parking place, somebody just takes your car and parks it for you. To get cars from the downtown to where parking is available, the city is considering a type of valet service.
At the Island Park Ramp there are plenty of parking spaces and this is one location that could be used by a valet system. There is another idea that would keep the cars just moving around downtown.
BOB STEIN - Fargo Senior Planner: “There's a 90 minute zone. So the person calls you, that starts the clock ticking. You know that that car has to be moved with in 90 minutes, but that gives you a pretty good sized window for that valet to take care of that.”
Then your car would either be brought to you by a valet or they would give you a map of where your car was located. The city is also considering a downtown bus route to get people to use parking lots away from Broadway.
