The Brainerd Daily Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/kFuwCP ) that politicians, students and residents gathered Friday for the groundbreaking of the a $38 million school for grades five through 12 on the same site.
Bricks from the old school, Wadena-Deer Creek High School, were given to about 90 graduating seniors from the Class of 2011.
The new school will serve Bluffton, Deer Creek and Wadena.
A tornado hit Wadena on June 17, destroying more than 260 structures.
