EDGELEY, N.D. (AP) — Plans for a proposed 10,000-cow dairy near Edgeley have been scrapped.

Frontier Dairy President Ralph Friebel tells The Jamestown Sun that officials determined there is not enough groundwater in the area to support the venture after testing done under the supervision of the State Water Commission. The dairy was projected to use about 1 million gallons of water each day.

Friebel says project developers are now looking at sites in the Underwood and Harvey areas. He says the project will be delayed at least a year.
