Fargo triplets use dedication, sibling rivalry to excel at Gymnastics
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - There isn’t any high school boys’ gymnastics teams in North Dakota, making it tough for those interested to compete at the college level. But three boys from Fargo are still managing to make it hard for college recruiters to pass them by.By: JR Havens, WDAY
13-year old Alejandro Mullerdahlberg recently won the pommel horse in his division at the region 4 gymnastics championships in Milwaukee. He beat over 140 competitors.
Davis Beattie – TNT Gymnastics Coach: “Dedication, he has a great work ethic and he's always really wanted to be good at this event and he's always worked at it really hard and he's probably the best one we have here on the event.”
Alejandro Mullerdahlberg - Regional Pommel Horse Champion: “I was pretty intimidated by the other guys in my age group because they were awesome on every event that I had seen them on. So when I went on pommel horse, I just tried my best and I guess that was enough.”
Alejandro isn't the only one in his family to excel in gymnastics.
Davis Beattie – TNT Gymnastics Coach: “He is one of three triplets.”
That's right, for the past 4 years Alejandro and his brothers Fabian and Giovanni have been paving their way to a college scholarship.
Fabian: “Well if anything I'm trying to at least do college gymnastics for at least vault.”
Competition from other clubs and good old sibling rivalry keeps the triplets at their best.
Giovanni Mullerdahlberg – Gymnast: “We don't like each other very much.”
Fabian Mullerdahlberg – Gymnast: “I am at highest level but Alejandro is the best at the level he's at.”
If they continue their success, college recruiters may be flipping at the chance to secure the triplets in their program. The triplets compete for the TNT Kids Fitness and Gymnastics Academy in Fargo.
