Construction starts on the new Lake Park-Audubon high school

Lake Park, Minn. (WDAY TV) - It took 6 elections in 6 years, finally school administrators in LP-A are breaking ground for the new high school.

About 75 people came out for tonight’s ceremony. The 17.5 million dollar building will be on the far west side of Lake Park. People will have a clear view of the building from Highway 10. The land was donated.

Construction will be completed in August of 2012.

DALE HOGIE – LP-A Superintendent: "Finally we get to the point where we are recognizing 6 long years of battle really it was difficult there were a lot of people who really challenged the proposal."

A 3 and a half million dollar renovation was done to the elementary school in Audobon. People can tour the school tomorrow from 7 to 9.
