Excess sandbags sent to Fort Ransom
Fort Ransom, ND (WDAY TV) - As we first told you Wednesday night, Fargo has made sand bags available to surrounding communities. A couple thousand of Fargo's bags are at Ft. Ransom State Park.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
In 2009, the farm house that serves as a visitor center, had seepage from the Sheyenne. The first time that has happened at the house. It dates back to 1882. The park is keeping a watchful eye before sandbagging begins.
RANGER JOHN KWAPINSKI - Fort Ransom State Park: “2009 we were at the top step, were high and dry at roughly 21-feet. They're predicting 20 1/2 this year, so we're going to be really close to 2009 levels.”
The park will likely place sandbags around the visitor center this weekend.
