Kite Board instructor makes the most of overland flooding
Harwood, Minn. (WDAY TV) - We may have found the first person, who may be enjoying flood waters.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
This is Jesse Kallander, he's kite surfing. Kallander is a kite board instructor with KotiKites in Fargo.
The patch of water he's on is just west of I-29 on the Harwood exit. It's about 2 to 3 feet deep here; Kallander says all you need is an inch or two to kite surf.
He says people from 8 to 80 years old have done it; all you need to do is know how to fly a kite.
JESSE KALLANDER - KotiKites & Wind Sports: “A little bit gusty, it was gusting between 15 and 30, so you'd be riding along and all of a sudden the wind would die down and you'd dip down into the water and all that type of jazz but it's still fun.”
Kallander wears a little camera on top of his helmet, so the company can post video from a first person point of view.
