COLD SPRING, Minn. (AP) — A Rocori Middle School student was removed from school and questioned by Cold Spring police after a handgun was found in the student' locker.

Superintendent Scott Staska tells the St. Cloud Times it happened about 9 a.m. Tuesday. The student's grade and gender were not released.

Staska tells KNSI-AM that witnesses say the student brandished the gun in hallway after being bumped by another student. It's not clear if the weapon was pointed at anyone.

Staska says students told the school principal, who inspected the student's locker and found the weapon. The student was detained and questioned by Cold Spring police.

In 2003, Rocori High School was the scene of a shooting in which two students died. The shooter was sentenced to life in prison.
