Fargo and Cass County send in diversion approval letters

Both the city and county said they approved the diversion as the Army Corps had is planned, but they hope to try and include southern communities like Oxbow and Hickson during the design phase. After three straight years of flood fighting, local leaders and residents are getting tired.

DENNIS WALAKER - Fargo Mayor: "If there's anything that's good that comes out three in a row is the need for something permanent, and the diversion would provide us with an opportunity to protect the largest city in North Dakota."

Moorhead and Clay County have sent their written support to the Corps for a North Dakota diversion as well.
