ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Duluth hockey team has been making the rounds in the Twin Cities after the Bulldogs became NCAA champions for the first time.

UMD beat Michigan in overtime on Saturday and celebrated well into the night in St. Paul with the trophy, the first in 50 years as a Division I program.

The team was honored at Target Field before the Twins game on Sunday and then later in the afternoon at Xcel Energy Center during the Wild game. Players and coaches sat in a suite in their maroon T-shirts and waved to the cheering crowd after a brief video tribute was shown during a break in the first period.

UMD was in the NCAA title game for only the second time. The last was in 1984.
