FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A 73-year-old Oakport Township man suffered an apparent heart attack and died while placing sandbags at his farm to protect against flooding.

Clay County, Minn., Sheriff Bill Bergquist says Quentin Goehring collapsed Wednesday at about 8:30 p.m. He says Goehring was taken to a Fargo hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Berguist says about a dozen family members and volunteers were sandbagging at the farm when the incident happened. The sheriff says several volunteers continued sandbagging efforts on Thursday to protect the farm where Goehring and his son lived.
