Teagan Lende will finish out his junior year at Fargo South and will not represent Shanley in the final rounds of the New York University International Public Policy Forum Elite Eight Tournament next weekend.
Lende's mother says he's not willing to compromise his principles. Tegan and his debate partner were required by Shanley to attend school on a day off for other students as punishment for missing a day of school while they were prepping written arguments for the tournament.
Lende's mother says her son was considered truant because of the absence.
