Fargo South head girls hoops coach resignsFARGO, N.D. (AP) — Fargo South head girls basketball coach Craig Flaagan has resigned after 19 years and 349 victories.
The Forum reports that Flaagan hopes to become a middle school or elementary coach in south Fargo to help revitalize the area's numbers and maintain the program's success.
Flaagan says the addition of Fargo Davies High School to south Fargo could put a strain on South's competitive future, because many of the Bruins players came from within what is now the Davies school boundaries.
Flaagan's teams made 17 state tournament appearances, won state titles in 1992 and 1994 and had four runner-up finishes in the past decade.
Flaagan was a four-time Class A coach of the year.
