The agency shifted workers and sent some from the Grand Forks region south to clean up I-29. Parts of the area saw up to 20 inches of snow.
That has made for a lot of time and work on the roads, removing all the snow and clearing ice. A total of 26 plows have been on a 72 mile stretch between the cities.
BRUCE NORD - ND Department of Transportation: “Sounds like a lot of vehicles for a very short period of time and a real short mileage wise with all the snow that we had and a lot of compacted stuff, so it took a long time to get that stuff scraped off.”
Plows and workers from the Wahpeton area went past their usual turning point of Christine. They cleaned an extra 25 miles of interstate to Fargo.
