Perham-Dent School Board cuts 10 teachers for the next school year

Perham, Minn. (WDAY TV) - The Perham-Dent school board has cut at least 10 teachers for the next school year.
Superintendent Tamara Uselman says the board cut from the bottom up and the positions cut were probationary, non-tenured positions. She says if funding does become available, the jobs will be re-opened, but the cut teachers don't have automatic rights to them.
Three others were placed on unrequested leave because they are tenured teachers. They'll be the first to be called back if money becomes available. The district is still awaiting the fate of state-funded education.
