Linton-HMB beats Central Valley 41-36
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A strong finish helped Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock post a 41-36 first-round victory over Central Valley on Thursday at the North Dakota girls Class B basketball tournament.
The Lions finished the game on a 6-0 run, taking the lead for good on a basket by Robin Weber with 3:16 remaining. Kayln Schneider, who led Linton-HMB (19-7) with 14 points and seven rebounds, gave her team a three-point edge on a basket with 1:17 left. Whitney Gerving hit a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left to seal the win.
Linton-HMB shot 58 percent from the field to Central Valley's 38.
Kennedy Henningsgard led the Valiants (21-5) with 11 points. Jessica Henningsgard and Taylor Henningsgard each finished with nine points.
