NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) — Cleanup crews on Tuesday were continuing to work on the site of an oil-field semi tanker that overturned west of New Town.

The Minot Daily News reports that the incident stopped traffic for about two hours Monday afternoon at the N.D. Highway 23 and Sanish Road intersection.

Cliff Whitman is emergency management director for the Three Affiliated Tribes. He says there was a large spill at the site, and cleanup began immediately after the accident.

Whitman says he's waiting for a report on the contents of the load the tanker was carrying.

The vehicle is from Beaver Creek Trucking, a company working in the oil field.
