Man looks to build largest motorcycle in Regent

REGENT, N.D. (AP) — A Regent metal sculptor plans to build the world's biggest motorcycle and park it on the North Dakota town's Main Street.

REGENT, N.D. (AP) — A Regent metal sculptor plans to build the world's biggest motorcycle and park it on the North Dakota town's Main Street.

Gary Greff tells the Bismarck Tribune that he hopes to build a bike measuring 102 feet from wheel to wheel and 42 feet from ground to handlebars.

He wants it to draw some of the thousands of bikers who travel to the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota's Black Hills every summer.

Greff says he'll build the motorcycle next winter in a shop in New Leipzig and assemble it for summer 2012.

He's already built seven larger-than-life sculptures on the Enchanted Highway outside Regent. The grasshoppers, flying geese, strutting pheasants, leaping deer, and swimming fish are set up at intervals on the 30 miles between Interstate 94 and Regent.
