BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A New Town man has pleaded guilty to assaulting federal officers.
U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 27-year-old Henry Smith could face life in prison when he's sentenced May 23 in federal court in Minot on assault and weapons charges.
Authorities say Smith struck his brother in the head and face with a shotgun last September, then later scuffled with officers at a New Town jail. Purdon says one officer suffered a wrist injury and another officer elbow and shoulder injuries.
