A charge of driving under the influence has been dismissed against Devils Lake City Commissioner Craig Stromme Monday. This just hours after news that Stromme was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and carrying a concealed weapon charges at 12:10 Saturday morning.

Ramsey County States Attorney Lonnie Olson says he determined that Stromme's blood alcohol level was a .07, and therefore just below the legal limit to drive. Olson says he held a meeting today to determine what formal charges should be brought against Stromme, and that the arresting officers did not show up for that meeting. Olson says Stromme will still face a concealed weapon violation for a pistol found in his glovebox.

Stromme was arrested at 12:10 Saturday morning when he was pulled over for erratic driving. He told Devils Lake radio station KZZY this morning that "...the gun is a pistol he uses to hunt gophers and he has no additional comment at this time."

Stromme was first elected in 1998 to the at-large Devils Lake City Commission seat.
