56-student projects ranged from germination, to the choices a snail faces, to backpacks affecting a students posture.

People from NDSU, Concordia, River Keepers and United Sugars judged the projects. They chose 20- students to advance to a regional Science Fair at NDSU.

JOHN GOSSETT - Oak Grove Science Teacher: “These kids had to put a lot of time in. They had to do a lot of research and they actually had to do the hands on. Mom and dad don't do this for them, so they're accountable and as a result they're going to see their reward.”

The students started the projects in October.
