Perham, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Real signs of recovery this week for the Perham High School basketball player who collapsed on the court during a game.
Three weeks after his heart stopped, Zach Gabbard was able to get his breathing tube taken out and with the help of his nurses; he was able to sit up in a chair at a twin cities hospital, that from his Caring Bridge site.
It says Zach is still only able to nod his head to respond to questions, but is working with speech therapists. He also continues to work with occupational/physical therapists to regain his muscle movement.
