Garfield, MN man shot by police after confronting deputies with a gun

Garfield, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A 30-year old Garfield, Minnesota man faces charges after he was gunned down by 3 deputies.

The sheriff's office says Jonathan Benson confronted deputies with a gun, and would not put the gun down. He was shot a number of times, and later air lifted to a St. Cloud hospital. His condition is not being released.

Authorities were called to the home by Benson's mom, who says 2-unwanted guests would not leave the home, and her son was threatening them. Jonathan Benson wouldn't cooperate with authorities.

Authorities will not say what charges Benson faces, and say his medical condition will determine when he is charged.
