LEONARD, N.D. (AP) — Three of North Dakota's first surviving quadruplets turned 70 over the weekend.

The quadruplets were born to Nick and Ella Brown on Feb. 6, 1941. The Forum newspaper reports that they made headlines and even appeared in a Carnation milk ad.

The three surviving quads are Cleo and Clayton Brown of Leonard and Connie Nennig of Breckenridge, Minn. Their brother Clair died in 2001.

Sunday's birthday celebrations were low-key. Nennig says she didn't really like growing up in the spotlight.
