MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Former Vikings Cris Carter and Chris Doleman did not make the cut at this year's voting for the pro football Hall of Fame.

Carter has been eligible for four years and has been shut down each time despite having 1,101 catches and 130 touchdowns in his career. Both ranked second in league history at the time he retired.

Doleman, a defensive end, is fourth in NFL history with 150½ sacks. Only Bruce Smith, Reggie White and Kevin Greene have more.

They were left out in favor of defensive end Richard Dent, running back, cornerback Deion Sanders, tight end Shannon Sharpe and NFL Films founder Ed Sabol.
