Minn. St., Mankato beats Bemidji St. 2-1 in OT

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Channing Boe scored in overtime, lifting Minnesota State, Mankato to a 2-1 win over Bemidji State in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Friday.

Boe's shot got past Beavers' goalie Dan Bakala at 2:32 of the extra period. It was the only shot faced by either goal in overtime.

The Mavericks (12-11-6, 6-11-4) took a 1-0 lead on Ben Youds' goal at 13:19 of the first period. MSUM put 16 shots on goal in the first period and had a 43-19 shots-on-goal advantage.

Bakala finished with 41 saves for the Beavers (9-14-2, 5-12-2).

Jordan George tied it for Bemidji State at 17:35 of the third period.

MSUM goalie Phil Cook had 18 saves.
