The YMCA in Downtown Fargo has two training sessions on Thursday nights. Each can have 18 children and parents.

For 25 minutes, for five weeks, three teachers work with the kids to get them adjusted to water, getting in the pool safely, and the basics of swimming. The goal is to create positive, fun, and safe experiences.

COREY HEISERWest Fargo Father: “Just even the basics of just floating around and interacting together with the parent and the child is really good to get them comfortable and not scared of being in the water.”

The children are between six months and four years old. The next session starts February 7th.
