2 students win bikes after posting perfect attendance

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Going to school has its benefits at McKinley Elementary school. Today, 2 students with perfect attendance won bikes.

15 students had perfect attendance for the first semester, November 1st through today. 2 drawings were held.

Alysha Mutesse and Isaac Edwards were the lucky students. The bike drawing is a way to encourage children attendance is important.

DAWN STREIFELMcKinley Principal: “Teaching has changed so much that there is so much that is happening in the classroom, that it's not just paper and pencil tasks they can do at home. It's also happening in the classroom, and they have to be here for that.”

The bikes are donated by the Shawn Rehm Insurance agency. 4 bikes will be given away this year at both Jefferson and McKinley.
