ND lawmakers debate bill that would ban alcohol at college sporting events

(WDAY TV) - North Dakota lawmakers have started debating a bill that could mean the end of tailgating. The proposed bill would ban alcohol at college sporting events, even if the person is over 21.

It Included the Ralph where there are two bars. It also includes drinking outside the stadium, like tailgating. NDSU restricts alcohol at sporting events, but allows tailgating.

The bill sponsor says it's a way to show minors that drinking is not acceptable.

REP. CHUCK DAMSCHEN(R) Hampden: "One of major factors in underage drinking is underage people observing adults using alcohol."

No one opposed the bill at the hearing, but Damschen says he's gotten plenty of criticism.
