FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The director of the North Dakota Attorney General's fraud division says the number of complaints prompted by a dental office suddenly closing in Fargo has risen to more than 60.

Parrell Grossman tells The Forum newspaper that the claims from patients who prepaid for dental procedures at Allcare Dental total $167,000.

The national dental chain shut down earlier this month, closing offices in more than a dozen states and leaving patients in the lurch. It has since said it is working on agreements in numerous states to transfer patients to other dentists.

In Fargo, Evergreen Dental is working to get patient files from Allcare and to ensure that people who need immediate dental care find it somewhere.
