Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Clay County could lose more than $800 dollars in the 2010 Minnesota gubernatorial recount.

Auditor Lori Johnson says it cost about $14-hundred dollars to recount the ballots, but the state only reimbursed the county $578 dollars.

The cost came from staff time and the expense of hiring election judges which was about $667 dollars.

Johnson says she suspects many counties feel like they were under-paid and hopes lawmakers will approve additional funding.
