GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A man has been charged with stealing cattle from a Lakota dairy where he worked.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that 53-year-old David Hill of Turtle Lake is accused of stealing heifers on three occasions in 2009. Authorities say he took 18 animals worth $14,400 from the Dusty Willow Dairy and sold them in Minnesota.
Hill was charged in March and a warrant was issued for his arrest in April. Nelson County Sheriff Kelly Janke says Hill was arrested last week during a traffic stop in McLean County.
Hill was being held on 5,000 bail at the Lake Region Correctional Center in Devils Lake.
