FARGO, ND (WDAY TV)- Some young entrepreneurs from Fargo are more than excited about the iPhone coming to our region soon. That's because the local company, Chalk, came up with an app for the iPhone that Apple not only approved, but made available just this week.

In a cozy office on Fargo's historic 8th Street, Matt Charpentier and Jasson Hummel work to tweak their latest creative jackpot, an app called Quick Bins.

β€œ[We} wanted to get into the app market. It is exciting and fun and it is exploding right now,” said Charpentier.

While Fargo waits for the iPhone and this new app, the rest of the world has access to it as of Wednesday. In one day, 86 installations in Europe, 47 in Asia.

The app is relatively simple, a quick way to find a friend and dial them.

Chalk is the tiny creative Fargo-based company that designed and developed the app.

β€œIt is very exciting, and I cannot wait to see people using it, especially in this area and hopefully it is something they [find] convenient for them and saving time,” said Hummel.
