state legislators a briefing on changes and progress in the state's
judicial system.
Gerald VandeWalle is speaking to a joint session
of the North Dakota House and Senate on Wednesday.
North Dakota's court system is asking lawmakers to approve an
$86.7 million budget for the next two years. It's an increase of
2.4 percent over current spending levels.
Two years ago, the Legislature agreed to add two new district
judgeships to the court system. This year's budget proposal does
not request any new judgeships.
