DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) - One of the leaders in the battle
against Devils Lake flooding is resigning his official county
position, though he still plans to be involved in the flood fight.
Ramsey County Emergency Manager Tim Heisler will
step down at the end of February. He tells KZZY radio that he's
enjoyed the challenges of the job he's held for 21 years but is
looking forward to a semi-retirement after being a county employee
for more than three decades.
Heisler says he'll remain involved in the flood battle by
educating people around the state and in Washington, D.C., about
the situation.
Heisler also plans to continue serving as a Devils Lake city
commissioner and says he's exploring a potential part-time job.
