The North Dakota Board of Dental Examiners is investigating the sudden shut-down of a nationwide dental clinic in Fargo.

The Allcare Dental and Dentures Corporation is located on 13th Avenue.

A sign on the door tells patients it is now closed.

The news left employees and patients in the dark.

Allcare, which has 57 sites nationwide, shutdown in many sites without warning over the weekend.

The problem facing patients is that many of them pre-paid for dentures and other services.

It is unclear how these patients can now get their waiting dentures and other dental services they paid for.

Fargo dentist Dr. Dave Brandt is an independent dentist who briefly did some contract work for the company.

"From what we are all learning, this is the downside of corporate dentistry and when you take away the independent dentist owning your own office and responsibility he or she may feel for patients and the morals that were lost in corporate structure," Brandt said.

Patients of Allcare who have concerns are told to contact the North Dakota State Board of Dental Examiners.

Their web site is nddentalboard.org

Calls to Allcare were not answered.
