A New Year’s Eve event for Fargo’s high school students has been canceled due to severe weather forecasted this week.
Fargo Public Schools issued a news release this morning announcing the cancellation of “Fargo Snow Bash 2010,” originally scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Friday at the Edgewood Golf Course.
The free event, in its inaugural year, was planned for students in grades 9-12 from South, North, Davies, Woodrow Wilson, Shanley and Oak Grove high schools.
The alcohol- and drug-free event was to include sledding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing as outdoor activities. Indoor activities like a Guitar Hero tournament and board games, food and door prizes were also in the plans.
The Fargo South High Parent-Teacher-Student Associations and Fargo Police Department also were sponsoring the event.
