A winter lecture series called Entertaining History was at the Myra Museum. Most classics started as novelty, short clips depicting Christmas scenes before growing into full films.

Most movies, like It's A Wonderful Life, were made as light-hearted alternatives during more serious times.

LEAH BYZEWSKIMyra Museum: "They were just longing to get back to the warmth of Christmas, yet in 1944 the war wasn't over yet. They still had a long way to go."

One of the most popular movies at the lecture: A Christmas Story.
