Teens in custody after robbing a pizza delivery driver with a BB gun

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Three teens are in custody after police say they robbed a pizza delivery man with a gun. The gun turned out to be a BB gun and the delivery driver walked away with minor injuries.

Police say the delivery driver was walking back to his car in the Rose Creek neighborhood. That's when he was he was jumped by three 16-year old boys looking for money.

Police say the Pizza Hut driver was shot by the BB gun and hit in the face with the gun.

Mark Lykken: "I looked at the pictures of the gun and this gun looks real. I'm sure until he was shot by the BB he thought it was a real gun."

Police say the delivery driver was able to give a description of the vehicle the robbers were driving. Just a few blocks away from the robbery the three boys ditched the car. That quickly led police to them.

Mark Lykken: "His assistance is really what turned this particular case."

This robbery comes just two weeks after a taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint. The robbers descriptions matched with this latest robbery, but police say they haven't arrested anyone in that case and they aren't making any links yet.

The delivery driver was treated and released from the hospital with minor injuries. The three juveniles didn't make out with any cash.
