Fargo man arrested for assault with a bat

Fargo, ND _ Fargo Police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1000 block of Gibraltar Ave N. The tenant and friends of the tenant of the residence reported hearing a knock on the door and opening the door. The suspect, Berlin, asked specifically for the tenant and the tenant came to the door.

Berlin then began to assault the tenant with a baseball bat. Friends of the tenant came to his aid and they were assaulted also.

The tenant, a 33-year old male, was struck by the bat and punched several times. A friend of the tenant, male 28 Fargo, came to his aid and was punched and kicked by a separate male suspect.

Berlin and the other suspects were located in a vehicle leaving the scene in the area. Nicholas David Berlin (22 West Fargo) was arrested for aggravated assault and taken to the Cass County Jail.

The report does not indicate if the victim received medical attention from being struck by the bat. The relationship between the victim(s) and Berlin is unknown at this time.
