The City Council considered an archery season within city limits to reduce the deer herd after complaints about property damage and vehicle collisions but decided against a hunt.
Councilman Ramone Gumke tells The Jamestown Sun that concern about safety was one reason.
Fargo and Bismarck both have restricted bow hunts in city limits to try to keep urban deer herds in check.
