Fort Totten woman pleads guilty to child abuse

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Fort Totten woman has pleaded guilty to a child abuse charge.

Harriet Rose Feather was indicted in federal court on one count of child abuse and neglect in Indian country. Authorities say she injured a 4-year-old by striking the child with an object.

The 31-year-old defendant faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 14.
