The Annual Salvation Army Mascot Challenge kicked off today. NDSU's Thundar, Concordia's Kernal Cobb, and MSUM's Scorch the Dragon will be bell-ringing this Saturday at Scheels in Fargo.

Whoever gets the most money in their kettle, wins. Losing A-D's have to wear the winner's school colors. In the end though, school officials say the real winner is the community.

"We all compete and we compete very hard, but on this competition we all want to win, but you know what it's the Salvation Army that wins from all of us."

Last year, the competition raised 3,700 dollars. NDSU raised the most money. Concordia has yet to take home top honors.
