Snow, high winds and cold are making treacherous conditions in some parts of the state. The National Weather Service reports up to a foot of snow Tuesday morning in the area from Redwood Falls through Olivia and Willmar.
Four to five inches of snow fell across much of the rest of the northwest and west-central parts of the state, with several more inches expected later Tuesday.
Wind gusts of more than 40 mph were recorded in Crookston, Fergus Falls and Morris.
The Star Tribune reported that 28 vehicles had slid off roads statewide by Tuesday morning, and 17 crashes involved damaged vehicles.
